I am Dr Ant, The Brain Whisperer, and I understand the highs and lows of the CEO life – I have lived it! I understand the pressure that comes with constantly being the go-to ‘top dog’, constantly glued to a screen, anxious and waiting, ready for something to go wrong. This is one of the fundamental reasons that I started offering Harley Street Therapy sessions. Today, I am going to talk about the difficulties that CEOs and business leaders can face, and how I can help.

Harley Street Therapy: Dealing with The Pressures of Being A CEO

I am Dr Ant, The Brain Whisperer, and I understand the highs and lows of the CEO life – I have lived it! I understand the pressure that comes with constantly being the go-to ‘top dog’, constantly glued to a screen, anxious and waiting, ready for something to go wrong. This is one of the fundamental reasons that I started offering Harley Street Therapy sessions. Today, I am going to talk about the difficulties that CEOs and business leaders can face, and how I can help.

Who am I?

Firstly, let’s start off with who I am. You know my name, but I should tell you a little bit about my story before we dive into the therapy itself. In 2014, I was what you would call a successful entrepreneur. I had many companies, lots of money, fancy cars and trips abroad, and yet, I wasn’t happy. I didn’t have empathy or tolerance. I had little time for others as I became so wrapped up in trying to be the best for myself and those around me, that it became obsessive. It was a dark place in my life. I sank into deep depression, anxiety, and became paranoid.

Thankfully, I decided to take control of my life consciously with positive mind practice and other methods. I trained and qualified in Solution Focused Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy, and I can now use my experience, and my research, to help others who are also in the same position as I was back then.

What is expected of CEO’s?

Many think that business leaders don’t face any issues, however, the truth is, they face the same issues, if not more, than their employees. Getting into the corporate world may seem like a great idea, but the reality can sometimes be a lot harsher than many of us were expecting. Some of us didn’t even choose to be a CEO, we were thrust into it to take over a family business.

Separating home life and business life with Harley Street Therapy

Entrepreneurs are expected to keep their home life and their professional lives separate. This isn’t always possible; more often than not, issues will bleed into your home life. This could be anything ranging from work frustrations to money worries. However, it is important not to take home those work struggles. If you do, where is the line drawn? In my Harley Street Therapy sessions, you can talk about these business struggles and any other worries to me. This avoids you having to take them home and allows you to create a healthy balance between work and your life!

Being relied upon

On top of this, CEOs are the person at the top ensuring the company stays afloat. They have employees who rely on them to pay their wages, and that in itself can be a massive pressure. If something goes wrong, it can be all down to you and the worry of this can unexpectedly rise to the surface and manifest in stress, anger, or sadness.

Pick the right motivation

Although these pressures can be motivating, they are actually called ‘away motivators’. This is the name given to things that we strive to move away from. Whilst this isn’t inherently bad, it can cause issues under the surface that we don’t see. To avoid this, you need to work on focusing on ‘towards motivators’.

With my Harley Street Therapy, we can work together to pinpoint ‘towards motivators’ for you. Once you have these in place, you can begin work towards them. Achieving these gives you a sense of love, acceptance, warmth; it raises your self-esteem and self-worth. These are goals and motivations that you are running to in hope, rather than away from in fear!

Why choose Harley Street Therapy?

Having been in business for most of my life, I know how the build-up of pressure can feel. Being the responsible one within an organisation and being held accountable to the people who believe in you can be tough, especially when there is an expectation to not let anyone down. Throughout my career, I have experienced every level of the business hierarchy, from assistant right up to being a CEO myself. This, paired with the qualifications I have gained, means I am in the correct position to be able to help others who are suffering, just as I did all those years ago.
